Arturo Pujia is Full Professor of Applied Dietary Sciences at the University of Magna Graecia of Catanzaro and Director of the Clinical Nutrition Unit at AOU Dulbecco in Catanzaro.
He has been involved in clinical and research activities for over 30 years, with a particular focus on clinical nutrition, metabolism, and the prevention and treatment of metabolic diseases.
He also directs the Research Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Metabolic Diseases and the Nutrigenomics Laboratory at the University of Catanzaro, where obesity, diabetes, fatty liver disease, and sarcopenia are among the conditions investigated.
He is the author of more than 130 international scientific publications and has served as principal investigator in numerous national and international research projects.
Stefano Massarini is a Nutritionist and Researcher at the Department of Endocrinology, Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases, San Giuseppe Hospital, IRCCS MultiMedica, Milan. He obtained a degree in Biological Sciences and a Master’s degree in Biology Applied to Nutritional Sciences from the University of Milan, where he subsequently obtained his professional qualification as a biologist.
His scientific activity is primarily focused on the pathophysiology and treatment of obesity, diabetes, and major metabolic diseases. His research interests include the metabolic, energetic, and nutritional aspects of obesity and diabetes, as well as the interaction between metabolism and the central nervous system. He has developed specific expertise in the study of innovative approaches to the treatment of obesity and diabetes, with a particular interest in deep transcranial magnetic stimulation (dTMS). His work also includes the assessment of energy metabolism and body composition using instrumental techniques, as well as the analysis of clinical data. He is the author and co-author of international scientific publications in the fields of obesity, neuromodulation, and metabolic diseases, with an H-index of 7.
Anna Ferrulli is a Researcher in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at the Department of Biomedical Sciences for Health, University of Milan. She conducts her clinical and scientific activities at IRCCS MultiMedica in the fields of Endocrinology, Nutrition, and Metabolic Diseases.
Her research is primarily focused on obesity, with particular emphasis on its neurobiological mechanisms and on innovative treatments such as neuromodulation. She has over ten years of experience in the application of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), initially in the treatment of addiction and currently in the treatment of obesity. She has participated in numerous experimental studies on rTMS, contributing to the characterization of its safety, tolerability, and effects on body weight and metabolic mechanisms.
Her research has also focused on the role of the central and autonomic nervous systems, thermoregulation, selected hormonal neuropeptides, and the gut microbiota, with the aim of gaining a better understanding of how neuromodulation may influence metabolism.
Roberto Codella conducts studies on exercise-modulated in vivo metabolism, with the aim of preventing, counteracting, or reversing pathological conditions that are increasingly common in contemporary society, such as insulin resistance, inflammation, diabetes, and obesity. He has developed a strong interest in the role of exercise in the management of chronic and degenerative diseases under a range of different conditions.
This research field, which is particularly innovative in terms of its implications for medicine, has the potential to significantly improve people's quality of life. He has also employed non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, such as transcranial direct current stimulation, to investigate the relationship between the brain and behavior.
Livio Luzi is Full Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Milan and Director of the Department of Endocrinology, Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases at the MultiMedica Group. His clinical and scientific activities focus on endocrine and metabolic diseases, with particular emphasis on diabetes, obesity, metabolism, and nutrition. He has extensive experience in clinical and translational research, developed also through international collaborations with leading academic and research institutions. He is the author of numerous scientific publications and has held several academic and research positions.
As part of his scientific activity, he has developed research programs focusing on neuromodulation and its potential applications in the treatment of obesity and metabolic diseases, contributing to the development of novel therapeutic strategies and to the translation of research findings into clinical practice.
